New European legislation called the General Data Protection Regulation took effect at the end of May 2018. The GDPR is designed to give everyone more understanding and control of their personal data.
Here is an explanation of how we at the Rotary Means Business Fellowship collect data and manage it as part of the Fellowship: what we keep, what we share and what we don’t.
In brief, as part of our operation we collect member data through a member setting up an account and profile. Any RMB member who logs in can see all the information you provided. After you log in, you can go to My Profile to see the data you have provided and you can manage your data.
In addition, if you are the primary contact for a local RMB chapter, we put the contact information you have provided to us in the chapter locater section which is accessible by anyone, without the requirement to log in or to provide a password.
We retain your name and contact details on file so we can send you communications.
We keep a record of payment for seven years as is required under tax law, but we do not keep or store your credit or debit card details. Any payment is managed by PayPal or Stripe: we do not collect or store any payment card details. Members who pay via this way are re-directed to these external sites.
We have never sold, traded or given away member details to third parties, and we never will.
The Rotary Means Business Fellowship has a social media channel: Facebook. As part of our operation we sometimes use targeted advertising and ‘promoted posts’ on Facebook to direct promotional content at the friends and fans of our Facebook group or Facebook page. An individual’s privacy controls and opt-ins for this are all managed through their own individual social media accounts.
We may use anonymous cookies – small bits of tracking data – on our website to allow Google Analytics and the website to function correctly. Users can refuse to accept cookies and can control them through their web browser.
Under the law you can ask to see the data we hold on you any time, for free. Please get in touch with us at info@rotarymeansbusiness.org or webmaster@rotarymeansbusiness.org with your full name, address and your email address and we will send you the data within 30 days.
We are committed to respecting and protecting our users’ data. If you believe your data has been compromised, please get in touch at info@rotarymeansbusiness.org and we will do all we can to help.
Thank you for being a member of the Rotary Means Business Fellowship.
